Position – Cavern Engineer:
We are seeking a key individuals to fill the position of Cavern Engineer. The candidate will report directly to the Vice President - Operations and Engineering and will be responsible for actively managing projects from inception to completion. The candidate will work actively with field personnel to direct all aspects of the projects they are responsible for.
The candidate will manage his/her portfolio of projects and have a broad range of responsibilities including:

Prepares estimates, budgets, schedules, materials and contract specifications for projects

Participates in design and specifications of wells and associated equipment requirements

Creating job specific work procedures for drilling, workover activities, & well testing

Troubleshooting downhole issues

Design and supervisor well logging programs both cased and open hole

Collaborate with field personnel

Research vendor selection

Provide oversight of outside service vendors

Assist with regulatory filings. Obtain drilling, salt water disposal, and other state regulatory permits

Coordinates design and construction activities with clients, field personnel, procurement, engineering, and construction contractors and manages projects to ensure on budget and on schedule completion

Evaluates and recommends new technologies for potential application

Maintains Company technical standards, handbooks, and design criteria

Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for new construction and maintenance activities

Manages multiple projects concurrently

Appropriately communicates with his/her manager on status and developments of projects assigned and /or in progress
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum 5 years of practical engineering experience with a cavern operator or cavern consulting company. Broad exposure to salt cavern well drilling, completion, workover, and testing. Preference for Professional Engineer or ability to obtain their PE.

The candidate will possess strong expertise and understanding of salt cavern design and hydraulics

Strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Ability to work well in a collaborative environment with both management and engineering team

Ability to work and relate well with field supervision and third party contractors

Self-starter who can pro-actively manage project deliverables and pro-actively communicate with field personnel and management.

Practical and pragmatic approach to problem solving; hands on worker.

Well organized in order to plan work schedule and logistics for vendors and field personnel.

Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment.
